INTEGRATIONS & INTEROPERABILITY

Integrations that fit your ecosystem. Connect WISEflow to your existing systems securely, reliably & on your terms.

BACKGROUND

Assessment doesn’t happen in isolation. Institutions operate complex landscapes spanning SIS, LMS/VLE, identity, BI, archives and quality systems. WISEflow is designed to join that landscape, not reshape it, with multiple integration pathways that keep your data flowing and your options open.

PURPOSE

Our goal is to make WISEflow a natural extension of your digital stack so you can:

  • streamline exam and coursework workflows end-to-end.
  • Minimise manual data handling and support effort,
  • surface the right data in the right place (student portals, BI, archives).
  • Retain full freedom to evolve your architecture over time. No vendor lock-in.

Connect WISEflow to your existing systems securely, reliably, and on your terms. Choose our integration platform, open API, LTI for your LMS/VLE, and simple import options. No lock-in.

FEATURES & INTEGRATIONS OPTIONS

DEDICATED INTEGRATION PLATFORM

For tight coupling with core institutional systems, our integration platform enables robust, secure connections typically to:

  • Student Information Systems (SIS) for enrolments, schedules and results,
  • Authentication/SSO (including national identity schemes) for seamless access, and
  • Academic integrity tools such as plagiarism detection.
This approach makes WISEflow a dependable part of your infrastructure while preserving institutional control.

OPEN API (REST, JSON)

Use our public API when you need maximum flexibility and data portability. Typical uses include:

  • Automating workflows (e.g., exam creation, allocations, results return) or connecting through your ESB/iPaaS (Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft, etc.),
  • BI & reporting by exporting assessment data to analytics tools, and
  • RPA/lowcode automation with platforms like Power Automate.
The API is thoroughly documented, versionmanaged and ratelimited for reliability.

LMS/VLE CONNECTIBITY VIA LTI 1.3

Prefer to meet educators where they already work?

WISEflow integrates with leading LMS/VLEs through LTI 1.3 including Canvas, Moodle, Brightspace, Blackboard and Itslearning,  enabling course linking, participant provisioning and grade return in a familiar workflow.

ITEM & QUESTION IMPORTS (QTI & EXCEL)

Bring existing content with you and keep authors productive:

  • QTIbased imports from major platforms (Canvas, Moodle, Brightspace, Blackboard and Itslearning), including content exported from Inspera (QTI 2.2), so items and rich media can move into WISEflow’s Content Bank.
  • Excel template import for rapid creation of common item types (MCQ, True/False, short text, essay – ideal for quick onboarding and bulk authoring.

COMMON QUESTIONS FROM HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

What does “Integrations that fit your ecosystem” mean?
WISEflow is built to connect seamlessly with the systems you already rely on — SIS, LMS/VLE, identity systems, BI tools, archives and more. Instead of forcing institutions into a fixed setup, WISEflow offers flexible integration pathways that keep your data flowing across your digital landscape without lock‑in.
Why does WISEflow offer multiple integration options?
Because assessment doesn't exist in isolation. Institutions run complex system architectures, and WISEflow is designed to be a natural extension of that environment. Multiple integration routes allow you to streamline workflows, reduce manual data handling, and evolve your architecture over time without disruption.
What is the Dedicated Integration Platform used for?

The integration platform supports robust, secure, institution‑wide connections, typically for:

  • Student Information Systems (SIS)
  • Authentication/SSO and national identity schemes
  • Academic integrity tools such as plagiarism systems
This approach makes WISEflow a dependable part of your infrastructure and supports tight, automated data exchange.

When should we use the Open API (REST/JSON)?

Choose the API if you need maximum flexibility and control. It’s ideal for:

  • Automating exam workflows (creation, allocations, results return)
  • Connecting through ESB/iPaaS tools (Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft, etc.)
  • Powering BI dashboards and analytics
  • Supporting RPA and low‑code automation (e.g., Power Automate)
The API is fully documented, version‑managed, and rate‑limited for stability.
How does LTI 1.3 improve LMS/VLE integration?

WISEflow integrates with major LMS/VLE systems via LTI 1.3 (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Brightspace, Itslearning). This enables:

  • Simple course linking
  • Automatic participant provisioning
  • Seamless grade return
Educators work directly within their existing LMS workflows, reducing friction and duplicated effort.
What kind of content imports are supported?

WISEflow supports two flexible import routes:

  • QTI‑based imports from Canvas, Moodle, Brightspace, Blackboard, Itslearning including QTI 2.2 from Inspera  directly into the WISEflow Content Bank.
  • Excel‑template imports for rapid creation of common question types (MCQ, true/false, short text, essay).
These options help institutions migrate content easily and keep authors productive.
Is there vendor lock‑in when integrating with WISEflow?
No. All integration methods, platform, API, LTI, imports, are designed for portability and openness. Institutions maintain full ownership of their workflows, data, and architectural choices.
