On 15 November, UNIwise welcomed those in the Aarhus area to a housewarming party for our new head office. We hosted suppliers, new neighbours, local customers and families for a relaxed get-together, with some drinks and snacks.

Advance HE and HEPI recently published the annual Student Academic Experience Survey (SAES). Many of the positive messages from the report were ‘overshadowed by the cost-of-living crisis’ and its effects on students. We reflect on these findings, and offer some suggestions on how to alleviate the financial burden for students.

On Friday 16 June, UNIwise held its annual summer party at our headquarters in Aarhus. The day was filled with teamworking, music, cake and champagne – and we were joined by Daniel Mogerud of Monterro, our new partners, alongside fellow Board member Leif Bohlin - who called in remotely. 

On Thursday 25 May, we hosted our first Partner Day at the Danish School of Media and Journalism.

UNIwise has partnered with B2B software investor Monterro. The partnership will enable us to strengthen our platform, provide better support for our customers and support greater outreach in Europe. Likewise, we will be better resourced to secure both our customers’ success and product fit in the years to come while scaling. 

On Wednesday 17 May, 370 UCL students opted to take part in an in-person digital examination pilot, sat on WISEflow, at the ExCel Arena, London. We discussed this pilot with Joanne Moles, Head of Assessment Delivery and Platforms.

UNIwise is excited to be holding a hands-on Machine Learning workshop on 28 February for students in the Aarhus area.

On 15 August 2022, UNIwise celebrated its tenth birthday. From starting as a cross-university project out of Aarhus University funded by the Danish Government Foundation for Welfare Technology to operating across Europe and providing a digital assessment platform for students across the globe, we reflected on the decade that was.

UNIwise is happy to announce that Kurt Gammelgaard Nielsen will shortly step into the role of our new Director of Development and Maintenance.

The next WISEcon will now be taking place on 13 & 14 September 2022 in Manchester.

Following the postponement of WISEcon to March 2022, registration for the event is now open. It will take place at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester on the 23rd and 24th of March next year.

We had hoped to run the conference in October of this year, but restrictions on travel have proven to be prohibitive for the majority of would-be attendees. As such, we’ve taken the decision to postpone the conference until March of next year.

The programme for WISEcon21, which takes place in Manchester, UK on 6 & 7 October 2021, is now live. Confirmed speakers include: Bendik Samuelsen, Provost - Academic Programmes Staff at the Norwegian Business School, Derfel Owen, Director of Education Services and Transformation at UCL, and Torsten Eymann, Vice President for Digitalization and Innovation at the University of Bayreuth.

WISEcon21, a two-day event hosted and curated by UNIwise, brings together people who are passionate about learning technology across all levels of higher education, from the Exams Office to the Pro Vice Chancellor’s office, to share their knowledge and experience.

The inaugural WISEflow Insights event – our new take on user groups that responds to the need for digital opportunities to share knowledge and experience in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic – took place last week, featuring talks from new and long-standing customers and national break-out sessions.

In April the number of institution licenses for WISEflow surpassed 100, and during this Spring we have extended our customer portfolio to cover 14 different countries.

Since educational institutions and universities’ physical campuses have shut down around the world, we have been running fast to ensure that WISEflow can be mitigated and adapted to the radically changed circumstances. Read the latest update on our work here.
