Date: 16 April 2024
Time: 11AM
Since the release of ChatGPT towards the end of 2022, the world has never been the same. Generative AI has permeated into every corner of society, and the HE sector is no exception. Initial responses were ones of fear and concern, that tools like ChatGPT would facilitate cheating that was impossible to identify, turning the university experience on its head and presenting huge issues for staff. However, as time has gone by, some institutions have chosen instead to embrace the potential AI has to enhance the academic experience, even going so far as to allow its use in assessment provided it is correctly referenced.
This Campfire session will discuss the good and the bad of AI and its impact on the assessment process.
